JUST IN: Jim Harbaugh talks about Chase Winovich injury at Monday’s presser

On Saturday, Michigan did not look great in the first half but they dominated the second half on way to a 31-20 win over Indiana.

Despite the win, there was a big concern as the final seconds ticked off the game clock.

That concern is whether or not defensive end Chase Winovich will be able to suit up and play against the Ohio State Buckeyes this coming Saturday.

Winovich suffered what appeared to be an upper-body injury (likely shoulder or collarbone) when he was shoved to the ground by an Indiana defender in the third quarter.

Following the game, head coach Jim Harbaugh said Winovich had X-rays performed both at the stadium and at the hospital and they all came back negative.

On Monday, Harbaugh was asked about Winovich’s availability for the game against the Buckeyes but he was not willing to give out anything concrete.

Harbaugh added that Winovich has been playing at an “MVP level” so far this season.

Even if Harbaugh knows Winovich’s availability for this Saturday’s game, you can bet he will hold that information close to his chest until kickoff.

We may be in the thick of the college football season but if you have been paying attention to college hoops, you realize something special is going on with the University of Michigan basketball.

After advancing all the way to the NCAA Championship Game in April, the Wolverines knew they would have their work cut out for them if they want to make another run this season.

Not only have the Wolverines’ won their first five games but it’s how they have gone about their business which has been impressive. Up to this point, Michigan is allowing just 47 points per contest while scoring just over 68. Their defense has been absolutely suffocating as only one team (George Washington) has been able to score over 47 points vs. the Wolverines.
