JUST IN: Lions sign free agent offensive tackle Tony Hills

After signing a pair of free agent defensive tackles earlier on Thursday, the Detroit Lions have made another depth signing, also at the tackle position but this one on the offensive side of the ball.

Tony Hills is a former fourth-round selection of the Pittsburgh Steelers back in 2008. He spent two seasons there (2009-10) before playing parts of a season with Indianapolis (2012) and Dallas (2014). Most recently, he spent the last two seasons down in New Orleans.

Overall for his eight-year career, Hills has played in 33 games, making one start.

Hills will assuredly provide some depth up front for the Lions and add some competition for that left tackle position while incumbent Taylor Decker recovers from recent shoulder surgery.

In a corresponding move made when signing Hills, Detroit has waived Connor Bozick, the undrafted free agent out of Delaware who signed with the Lions shortly after conclusion of the 2017 Draft.
