The Detroit Red Wings are hoping to revitalize themselves through the NHL Draft, and they’ve now found out in what order they’ll be making their first selection this year in comparison to the rest of the NHL. The Red Wings will draft 6th overall in the 2018 draft.
The Draft will be held June 22-23 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

Of course, this year’s projected first overall selection is Swedish defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, who has drawn comparisons to legendary Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom. Take a look at how Elite Hockey Prospects described his overall game:
“Dahlin is a smart two-way defenseman who can play in any situation. He is a terrific skater and stick handler who can rush the puck, or join the attack in a hurry. Impressive agility makes him a good one-on-one defender. He has fine passing ability, and altough not a big-time bomber, he has an accurate shot from the point. Not one to shy away from the physical game, Dahlin is an accomplished open-ice hitter.”
Other top pick projections include right winger Andrei Svechnikov out of Barrie (OHL), left winger Brady Tkachuk out of Boston University, defenseman Quintin Hughes out of Michigan, and right winger Filip Zadina out of Halifax (QMJHL).
