The Detroit Red Wings are in a unique situation tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
With backup goaltender Jonathan Bernier sick, there was nobody to back up goaltender Jimmy Howard. During tonight’s game, Howard was injured right before surrendering a goal to Leafs forward John Tavares.
Jonathan Bernier was not supposed to play tonight. He's now on the ice, as Jimmy Howard is done for the night (per FSD).
The Red Wings emergency goaltender is now dressed, too.

A sick Bernier suited up and has come into the game, but is clearly still feeling the effects from his illness.

Jonathan Bernier just entered the game. He wasn't even dressed, to start the game.
Apparently, he's really sick. https://t.co/QKHCZcqIWL
