The Detroit Tigers got back in the win column on Wednesday as they defeated the Cleveland Indians 4-1 at Comerica Park.
One of the best stories in Major League Baseball so far this season is Tigers’ closer Shane Greene and the rate at which he is racking up saves.

Greene entered Wednesday’s game against the Indians in the bottom of the ninth inning with the Tigers leading 4-1. Three batters later, Greene had converted his eighth save of the season as Detroit moved to 8-4 and back into first place in the American League Central.
You read that correctly, Greene has eight saves in only 12 games which just so happens to be a new Major League record.

Nation, obviously Greene cannot continue to save games at this pace but for now, let’s sit back and enjoy the show!
