If you have been following college football rumors over the past week, especially when it comes to Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson, you know there are plenty of rumors floating around which have him transferring before the 2018 season.

Many of those rumors involve Patterson being interested in joining Jim Harbaugh at the University of Michigan. The first rumor was that Patterson was planning on attending the Michigan vs. Ohio State game last weekend because he was planning on becoming a Wolverine.

But within the past day or so, the “Patterson to Michigan” rumors have really begun to heat up.

On Friday, respected Michigan insider Sam Webb reported that Patterson is certainly in play for the Wolverines. According to the NCAA’s sanctions against Ole Miss, seniors who decide to transfer to another program will be able to play immediately, but underclassman will not. This, of course, throws a bit a wrench into the picture because Patterson will be a junior next season.

That being said, there are reports saying lawyers could get involved, and because of the sanctions against Ole Miss, underclassman could also end up being able to play immediately.

All of that is pure speculation but what really caught our eye is Patterson’s recent twitter usage, specifically the people he has chosen to follow. As you can see below, Patterson is following Michigan’s Brandon Peters, Rashan Gary, and Jim Harbaugh, to name a few.

If Patterson is cleared to play immediately, it would be surprising if Harbaugh would not be all over bringing him to Michigan. But, if the former No. 1 overall quarterback from the Class of 2016 has to sit out a season, it could be a much tougher decision because of the quarterbacks already in the Michigan program, including Brandon Peters, Dylan McCaffrey, and incoming freshman Joe Milton, who is expected to enroll early.
