The Major League Baseball trade deadline is less than 24 hours away which means that general managers around the league will be pulling all-nighters if that’s what it takes to get a deal done.
One of those general managers is Al Avila of the Detroit Tigers. Avila has made it clear that just about every player on the Tigers roster is fair game. But of all of the players who have been part of a trade rumor, it’s closer Justin Wilson who seems to have the attention of the greatest number of teams around the league. After all, he is a left-handed pitcher who has a high strikeout rate.
Well, according to the most recent rumor, Wilson is likely to be dealt sometime tonight and the Houston Astros are the favorite to land his services, though other teams are still in the mix.
Sources indicate Tigers LHP Justin Wilson likely to be dealt tonight. Astros considered the favorite, but others making a play for him, too.

Wilson, who is 29-years-old, has been one of the Tigers most consistent players this season. In 42 appearances, he has 13 saves while posting an ERA of 2.68. What really has blown everyone away this season is his impressive K/9 rate of 12.3.
It is interesting to note that the Tigers and Astros just completed a 3-game series with the Tigers taking two of three, including a 13-1 win on Sunday afternoon. During the series, Wilson appeared in one game, giving up one hit and not allowing a run to score.
If the Tigers do deal Wilson to the Astros, it will be very interesting to see who they pencil in as their new closer.
