On Friday, the Detroit Tigers used an 8th inning go-ahead grand slam by Justin Upton to beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-2. The win was the Tigers fourth in a row and they are now 51-57.
Following the game, the Tigers announced that Drew VerHagen will be the starting pitcher for Saturday’s matchup against the Orioles.

VerHagen has pitched just four innings for the Tigers this season. During that short time, he gave up three home runs and struck out one.
While in Toledo in 2017, he started 19 games while posting a 4.90 ERA in 97.1 innings of work.
