The Lions will look to get off to a better start than they did a season ago when they were annihilated at Ford Field by the New York Jets.
On Tuesday, the Lions held their first practice of the week and a trio of players which included LB Jarrad Davis, CB Rashaan Melvin, and DL Da’Shawn Hand were unable to participate.
C Frank Ragnow taking part in open portion of Lions practice today. Good news for him. LB Jarrad Davis, CB Rashaan Melvin & DL Da’Shawn Hand both had helmets but didn’t do much during open period.

Davis and Hand are no surprise but it’s interesting to see Melvin, who is currently the Lions No. 2 CB, missing practice.
In some promising news, C Frank Ragnow, who suffered an injury in the third preseason game, took part in the open part of the Lions practice on Tuesday.
