JUSTIN IN: Justin Verlander ALCS MVP, headed to the World Series

Well, it’s bittersweet, but our guy Justin Verlander was named ALCS MVP for the Houston Astros tonight, on the heels of their game seven win against the New York Yankees.

Verlander was dominant in the American League Championship Series pitching a complete game in game two, then turning around and pitching seven scoreless innings in game six. Verlander had two wins in the series and 21 strikeouts over 16 innings.

The Astros will take on the Dodgers in game one of the World Series starting Tuesday night.

Side Note:

After the game, Verlander was able to chat with Nolan Ryan, his childhood hero. A cool moment for Justin. Best of luck in the Series JV, all of Detroit is rooting for you.
