Had Matthew Stafford decided not to play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, not a single person with a brain would have held it against him. That being said, anyone who has followed Stafford since he was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2009 knew he was doing to do everything in his power to overcome the pain in his ribs to lead his teammates against the Titans.
You can bet Stafford’s teammates and coaches were thrilled when they found out he was going to give it ago but one person who was not ‘pleased’ was Kelly Stafford.
Following Sunday’s loss, a game in which Stafford played well and left it all on the field, Kelly took to Instagram to explain that though she was not thrilled when Matthew told her he was going to play, his toughness is one of the things she loves about him.
“It’s what I love about him,” Kelly posted. “I would be lying if I said I was pleased when he told me he was going to play after what I witnessed in our house the past week. But it is truly something I have admired about him since I met him. His determination to never let his teammates down, to never let the organization down.”
We love it too Kelly!
I hope we extend him and get him a defense. He deserves far better than what Quinn and Millen surrounded him with.
Go to Pittsburgh. We’ll be needing a QB. We have the D. Bring a running back with you
I don’t want to see him leave the miss run Lions, at least, if a trade is in the works I would hope he would only be traded to a super bowl contender , he deserves that opportunity . Maybe Colts, 49ers, Rams, Cowboys , even the Bears, Patriots, Steelers. It will be interesting to see what happens. Or draft Wilson, Trask or Trey and have them learn from Stafford for a couple of years. Best wishes to Mathew Stafford!!
