Ken Griffey Jr. entered the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame last season as part of the Class of 2016 and did so with the highest percentage ever among the HOF voters.
Griffey was a multi-sport athlete coming out of Archbishop Moeller High School in the Cincinnati area, having also played football. The 13-time MLB All-Star went on the Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday and said had he chose the football route, he would have went to play for the University of Michigan.

Griffey, better known as “The Kid” during his playing days, ended up being the No. 1 overall pick by the Mariners in the 1987 MLB Draft and put together one of the more decorated careers in the sport’s cherished history. In addition to playing in 13 All-Star games, Griffey was a 10-time Gold Glove winner, a 4-time Silver Slugger and a former AL MVP (1997).
He finished with a career .284 batting average and 630 home runs, good for 6th all-time in MLB history.
