When the Detroit Lions take the field in 2021, you can expect them to look very different than they did this past season as Matthew Stafford has requested a trade and will likely be dealt to another team.
But another player who could be playing elsewhere next season is wide receiver Kenny Golladay, who is set to become a free agent as soon as the new league year begins.
Golladay, who is 27, is one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the NFL when he is healthy and you can bet he will expect to get paid as such. Whether or not the Lions will (or should) pony up big-time money for a wide receiver is another conversation for another day.
On Thursday, Golladay joined the crew at Good Morning Football and he talked about Stafford.
“He’s a true leader, so wherever he goes, they’re going to get a true competitor. The dude is going to play through anything. He never wants to miss a game,” he said. “I don’t even know how he finished the season with some of the injuries he did have, but I think everybody in this league knows what you’re going to get from Staff.”
Golladay hit the nail right on the head with his comments about Stafford. One team is going to get a quarterback who is still at the top of his game, while the Lions will look to start over.
