Kenny Golladay wants to get paid, talks about if Detroit Lions will be team to pay him

When Kenny Golladay broke into the NFL with the Detroit Lions, former Lions wide receiver Golden Tate had his doubts about if the youngster would ever pan out.

“When he first got there, I was like, ‘This dude is not very good,’ ” Tate said

Well, it is safe to say that Golladay belongs and he has proven that on the field by having his best season yet in 2019.

Through his first 12 games this season, he has 47 catches for 950 yards and a league-best nine touchdown catches.

Golladay, who is in his third professional season, is only making $676,00 this season, and he is ready to get paid in a big way.

After the 2019 season is complete, Kenny will be eligible to sign an extension which, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, will make him one of the highest-paid receivers in the NFL.

The question is, will the Detroit Lions be the team to pay him?

According to Golladay, he is open to signing with the Lions but he will let the chips fall where they may.

From Detroit Free Press:

Golladay said he feels comfortable in Detroit and is “most definitely” open to signing an extension this spring, when he’s first eligible for a new deal.

“I’ll let it take care of itself after the season,” he said. “I definitely feel like I’ve done my part.”

Nation, do you foresee Lions GM Bob Quinn paying up for Golladay?
