We did not necessarily think the Detroit Lions would be the first team to hire a new general manager but will they end up being the last?
Time will tell but according to reports, another candidate is off the table for the Lions as Terry Fontenot is expected to sign a deal to become the next GM of the Atlanta Falcons. As noted by Ian Rapoport, that deal will not become official until the New Orleans Saints are out of the playoffs.
The #Falcons have identified #Saints VP/Assistant GM for Pro Personnel Terry Fontenot as the favorite to be their next GM, sources say. They won’t do a deal until New Orleans is out of the playoffs, but signs point to him being the choice.

With this news, the Lions are likely down to three candidates for their GM vacancy. Those candidates are Ed Dodds, Brad Holmes, and Jeff Ireland.
Nation, with the dominoes falling quickly, expect the Lions to make an announcement soon.
