The Detroit Lions announced the closure of their practice facility today after two members of the team tested positive for COVID-19.
“Earlier this morning, we were informed of two positive COVID-19 tests within our organization,” the team released in a statement. “As a precaution, the team practice facility is currently closed and our players and coaches are conducting meetings remotely today. As we adhere to our Intensive Protocols and conduct contact tracing, we will continue to communicate closely with the NFL and its medical staff and gather more information.”
And now, we know the identity of who tested positive.
The Lions announced that LB Anthony Pittman has been placed on the COVID-19 reserve practice squad list. In corresponding moves, Julian Okwara has been activated from IR, while C Jon Toth was added to the practice squad.
The Lions activated Julian Okwara from injured reserve.
Detroit also added center Jon Toth to the practice squad.
Anthony Pittman added to the COVID-19 reserve list practice squad list.
The Lions also terminated the contract of Marcus Martin.
