Detroit Lions fans desiring change ought to root for the Chicago Bears today

It may seem sacrilegious, but Detroit Lions fans who want meaningful change in their favorite middling franchise ought to cheer for the enemy Chicago Bears today.

In fact, fans should be hoping that the Bears absolutely eviscerate the team. They ought to be praying that Mitchell Trubisky has the game of his life today against a terrible Lions defense. And with third-stringer David Blough set to start at QB today, the wheels have already been put into motion for a Bears blowout.

Though we had hoped for a Thanksgiving game boycott by the fans, it doesn’t appear that’s going to be the case. The next best thing would be for the Bears to embarrass the team with a national television audience watching in such a way that Martha Ford’s hand is forced. Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia need to be gone from this franchise immediately. The Bears can help make it happen.

The 2019 season is lost. There is absolutely nothing left to play for. And unless there are swift and impactful personnel changes, we can expect more of the same in 2020.

It may go against every bleeding Honolulu Blue Lions fan insticts, but another embarassing setback today with the country watching could help to excelerate the moves the team desperately needs.
