The 2015 NFL Football season featured major overhaul for the Detroit Lions, with most of the front office executives being fired, leaving behind very little familiarity for what used to be. The latest executive to fall victim to the overhaul is Scott McEwen. McEwen served 29 seasons in the Lions’ personnel department and 2015 was his first as senior personnel executive. During McEwen’s tenure, he was responsible for managing the college side of the team’s scouting department and was a key cog in the team’s evaluation of college players throughout the country.
McEwen was the longest tenured member of the scouting staff, having been a part of the Lions’ organization since 1987.
