Sunday was not pretty at all as the Detroit Lions were embarrassed 20-0 by the Carolina Panthers in what was pretty much a must-win game for the Lions if their goal is to make the playoffs.
But NFL quarterbacks have to have the ability to look forward rather than backward and to keep a positive outlook while helping to lead their team.
According to Lions head coach Matt Patricia, that is exactly what Matthew Stafford has done.
“His leadership is outstanding,” Patricia told reporters. “The way that he approaches everything every week is outstanding. He wants to win. He wants to compete. He’s ready to roll.”

There is no doubt in my mind that Stafford wants to win. Unfortunately, during his tenure with the Lions, he has rarely had a team around him to help him do that.
