Lions name Emily Griffin as new VP of Marketing

Emily Griffin, who has been a part of the digital media department with the Lions since December of 2014, has been named as the team’s vice president of marketing.

At Super Bowl 50, new team president Rod Wood explained the reasoning for all of the recent changes in the business department have happened in order to consolidate all team sales functions under one person, the new senior vice president of business development Kelly Kozole.

“We certainly like the ‘One Pride’ and ‘Defend the Den’ (slogans),” Wood said. “Our fans like it, but maybe take it to another level. Keep those taglines but build more around, kind of, the whole city’s rebirth. When we started that, it was when Detroit was kind of on its knees. We were going to be part of, hopefully, the rebirth.”

The team fired two of their top marketing executives in the past couple weeks.
