Lions options will be plentiful if they need a new RB in 2021

As we continue to inch closer and closer to what we hope will be the start of the 2020 NFL season, the Detroit Lions have a couple of 2nd Round draft picks they hope will solidify a rushing attack that has left much to be desired since the great Barry Sanders retired.

Of course, I am talking about Kerryon Johnson and D’Andre Swift.

We don’t yet know who the official “starting” running back will be when the games begin, but to be honest, it really does not matter as both Johnson and Swift will get plenty of touches, assuming both stay healthy.

But health has been a big problem already for Johnson as he has missed 14 games in his first two seasons with the Lions and if he goes down again in 2020, it could be time to move on.

If the Lions do end up needing a running back to replace Johnson for the 2021 season and beyond (hopefully they do not) they will certainly have plenty of options.

As you can see in the tweets below, there will not only be a ton of solid free agent options (though some would be pricey) but the 2021 draft class is also loaded with talent.

Nation, if the Lions do end up needing a running back in 2021, which of these players would you be most interested in pairing up with D’Andre Swift?
