When the Detroit Lions selected Penei Sewell in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the hopes was that he would eventually turn into a Pro Bowl type offensive tackle. Well, it did not take Sewell long to get to the Pro Bowl level, as he did so in only his second season in the NFL. This past weekend, Penei was in Las Vegas to participate in the first-annual Pro Bowl Games, and of course, he was mic'd up.

Why it Matters for Sewell and the Lions
As we know, when it comes to the NFL Draft, there are plenty of busts in each and every class, and it is certainly refreshing to know that Sewell clearly will not be one of those. Penei is part of an offensive line in Detroit that is one of the best in the entire NFL, and that offensive line is a very big reason why the Lions offense was one of the best units in the league in 2023.
