Lions QB David Blough led Purdue to upset over OSU, wants repeat vs. Packers

Detroit Lions backup quarterback David Blough will be leading his team against the Green Bay Packers in the regular season finale this Sunday at Ford Field.

Currently, the NFC North-best Packers are listed as favorites over the Lions. But Blough knows a little something about upsets. Last October, he helped lead the Purdue Boilermakers to a stunning upset over the Ohio State Buckeyes who had won 12 straight; Blough threw for 378 yards and three touchdowns.

So how is he entering Sunday's game once again as the underdog?

“Probably play with the same mindset I did in that game, you just go cut it loose,” Blough said Thursday. “What do we have to lose? We’re just going to go and throw our best shot at them and give them everything we got.”

While Blough has played admirably in Matthew Stafford‘s absence, the team hasn't been able to win a game with him under center. And just because Sunday is the regular season finale, don't expect Blough and the Lions to give it anything less than all they've got.

“They’re playing for a lot, so are we,” Blough said. “Pride means something around here and these guys are going to fight and I hope you guys have seen that in the way they’ve carried themselves all season. We’re not going to let up now with one to go.”
