It was an ugly scene at Ford Field on Thursday night as the Detroit Lions lost their opening pre-season game to the New England Patriots by a 31-3 final score.
Nothing went right for the team as they were outplayed in every possible category – not to mention losing several players to injury. Quarterback Tom Savage suffered a concussion in the first quarter and did not return.
He was clearly having difficulty standing after being sacked, and was then taken to the locker room. Head coach Matt Patricia wouldn’t comment on a potential recovery/return date.
“I don’t really comment on those situations,” Patricia said Saturday. “We go day-by-day with it, and let the people that are trained professionally handle all that. We’ll obviously do everything we can to just do everything that’s best for the situation.”
