Lions release DT C.J. Wilson, clear more cap room

In another move designed to save room under the salary cap for next season, the Lions released defensive tackle C.J. Wilson today.

In eight games with the Lions last season, Wilson chipped in eight tackles.

After the cut, the four defensive linemen remaining under contract for next year are Ziggy AnsahCaraun ReidDevin Taylor, and Gabe Wright. The Lions current situation leaves them with more than $34 million in cap space.
