Lions starting LB Tahir Whitehead ruled out vs Saints

With the Detroit Lions already expecting to be without key linebacker DeAndre Levy for yet another game, the team reported even more debilitating news ahead of their matchup with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

The team ruled out starting weakside linebacker Tahir Whitehead on Saturday. This means linebackers Josh Bynes and Antwione Williams will command the ship against a Saints offense that is the best in the NFL. Detroit News writer Justin Rogers confirmed the news on Twitter on Saturday.

Whitehead, 26, ranks sixth in the NFL in tackles with 101 total.
