Well, Detroit Lions‘ DT Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison is in that exact same situation and he clearly does not care what anyone thinks about him “skipping” Week 1 of Lions’ OTAs.

Harrison is doing exactly what anyone else in his position should (and probably would) do and that is fine. He certainly was not “skipping” anything.
Who remembers the last time the Lions honored a contract of a player who was no longer producing?
