On Friday, news broke that Dez Bryant was going to be released by the Dallas Cowboys and that is exactly what has happened.

Following the news, Detroit Lions running back LeGarrette Blount hopped on Twitter and sent a message to Bryant, asking him to sign with the Lions.

“Come play in Detroit bro.” Blount said in a tweet.

Bryant, who is a 3-time Pro Bowl player, was once one of the most dominant wide receivers in the NFL before dropping off a bit over the past three seasons. In fact, from 2012-2014, he racked up a whopping 3,395 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns.

In 2017, Bryant was only able to accumulate 838 receiving yards.

As far as him coming to Detroit goes, the Lions already have a solid receiving corp which features Golden Tate, Marvin Jones, and Kenny Golladay, who is expected to make a big impact in his second year in the league.

Nation, would you like to see Bryant wearing the Honolulu blue and silver in 2018?

Detroit Lions Perfect 2018 NFL Mock Draft: This one counts!

On April 26th-28th, the Detroit Lions will participate in the 2018 NFL Draft at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas and after coming up short of the NFL Playoffs this past season, there is no question that general manager Bob Quinn has his work cut out for him as far as improving the roster.

Up to this point, the biggest move Quinn has made in free agency is using the franchise tag on defensive end Ezekiel Ansah. In addition, the Lions released former first-round pickEric Ebron, which came to a surprise to many. Because of that move, it seems likely that Quinn will look to the NFL Draft for Ebron’s replacement, but the question is, in what round?

There are also concerns on both the offensive and defensive line that must be addressed if the Lions want any chance of making a run in the NFC North this coming season and those areas MUST be addressed in the early rounds.

I have been very vocal about my belief the Lions DO NOT have to draft a running back in the early rounds or even at all. Ameer AbdullahTheo Riddick, and newly acquired LeGarrette Blount are good enough to get the job done IF and only IF Quinn can solidify the offensive line.

  1. LeGarrette’s a great back. But Dez… I’d take Golladay, Tate and Jones over Bryant any day. For that matter, I would even take TJ Jones over the former Cowboy as well. I hope Blount’s comment isn’t taken as an insult by his new team’s wide outs. I’m supposing that it’s just our new running back’s way of showing supporting for his brother’s on the field.
