On Friday, news broke that the Detroit Lions were finalizing a deal with former Green Bay Packers defensive tackle, Mike Daniels.
That deal, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, is for one year and is worth $9.1 million, including $7.8 which is fully guaranteed.

According to Over The Cap, the Lions had $23,324,859 left in cap space prior to the Daniels signing. A little quick (mental math cuz we have skillz) tells us Detroit now have $14,224,859 left in space, which puts them just behind the Green Bay Packers and No. 18 in the NFL.
Lions’ GM Bob Quinn has been doing a solid job managing the cap for situations exactly like what happened with Daniels.
