The Tigers will play seven games broadcasted on Fox Sports Detroit this Spring Training. The games are as follows:
- March 11th vs. the Atlanta Braves
- March 12th vs. the Washington Nationals
- March 17th vs. the New York Yankees
- March 21st (6 P.M.) vs. the Atlanta Braves [on Fox Sports South]
- March 23rd vs. the Atlanta Braves [On Fox Sports South]
- March 25th vs. the Atlanta Braves
- March 26th vs. the Tampa Bay Rays
With the expectations set extremely low for the Tigers this season, this will be our first look at what our rebuilt roster looks like. It will be a team of youth and some veteran presence, but overall this Spring is all about the position battles. Who will play centerfield? How does Nicholas Castellanos transition to the outfield? And, how much a presence will Jeimer Candelario have on the club?
Getting a sneak peek during Spring Training will help to answer some of these questions. 2018 is all about development, not wins. Watching the young guys develop should be at the forefront of the minds of every Tiger fan as we look down the road to when we’ll be competing again. And it all starts when the Tigers take on the Yankees in Tampa, Florida on February 23.
So here’s to a new season, one different than we’re used to, but exciting all the same. Baseball is back!
