NCAA Football: Maryland at Michigan

When the University of Michigan takes the field this fall, they will look much different than they did in 2016 as they will have to replace a plethora of players on both sides of the ball. That being said, Jim Harbaugh has done an excellent job recruiting, and on paper, it looks like they could be a top 15 team in 2017.

If Michigan wants to win their first Big Ten title under Harbaugh, they will have their work cut out for them.

The South Point Sportsbook in Las Vegas has released point spreads for some of the biggest college football games of the season and Michigan is currently a decisive underdog against both Penn State and Ohio State.

The sportsbook set an opening line of -14 in favor of the Nittany Lions when Michigan travels to Happy Valley on Oct. 21. If you recall, Michigan absolutely destroyed Penn State 49-10 this past season at The Big House.

In addition to being a huge underdog against Penn State, Michigan will also have to be on their A-game when they host Ohio State on Nov. 25 as the Buckeyes have been installed as an 8-point favorite. In 2016, Michigan looked to be the better team, but costly mistakes allowed OSU to beat the Wolverines in Columbus 30-27 in overtime.

Just in case you are curious, Michigan is currently a 15-favorite over Michigan State, who they will host on Oct. 7 in Ann Arbor. In 2016, the Wolverines were also a heavy favorite but were only able to beat the Spartans 32-23. MSU will be looking to rebound from an atrocious 3-9 record this past season.
