When Brad Ausmus was hired by the Detroit Tigers, the hope was he would help get them over the hump and win a World Series. Unfortunately, in his four seasons as manager of the Tigers, Ausmus was unable to get the job done, including a last-place finish this past season.

With the team looking to go in a different direction, Tigers general manager Al Avila announced that Ausmus would not be returning for the 2018 season. As we now know, Ausmus was replaced with former Minnesota Twins skipper, Ron Gardenhire.
Those in the “baseball know” seemed to believe that Ausmus would land on his feet sooner than later, but the thought was it would be as an MLB manager.
According to a report from the Orange County Register, Ausmus has, in fact, landed on his feet but will involve working in the Los Angeles Angels front office.

The Angels are also hiring former Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus as a special assistant to the GM.
Ausmus was fired in September after managing the Tigers for four years. A former big league catcher, Ausmus will assist with scouting and evaluations of the Angels system, amateurs and players in other organizations. Bud Black held a similar role with the Angels in 2016, when he was between managing jobs.

JUST IN: Michigan could be working on ‘lifetime’ contract with Jim Harbaugh
Ever since Jim Harbaugh became the head coach at Michigan, there have been constant rumors about him leaving for the NFL. Those rumors have yet to come to fruition and Harbaugh has been consistent about his loyalty to the Wolverines.
According to former Notre Dame quarterback and current college football analyst Brady Quinn, Michigan is working on a “lifetime” contract with Harbaugh.
