Anyone who followed college basketball down the stretch last March should remember Michigan as one of the more feel-good stories in the sport. The Wolverines were firmly on the bubble at season’s end before rattling off four straight wins to win the conference tournament, eventually towards an appearance in the Sweet 16 as a 7-seed.

Perhaps one of if not the most iconic moment in the eyes of some came following Michigan’s 73-69 victory over 2-seed Louisville in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Wolverines head coach John Beilein, as much coaches often do following big wins in March, celebrated emphatically with his team. Little did the players know, however, that Beilein was prepared for battle.

A squirt gun, John? Seriously? Yes, seriously. And that shot is being molded into a collectible figurine for Michigan fans.

This Saturday (12/02), Michigan will host Big Ten rival Indiana (12:30 p.m. ET on CBS) in what will be the conference opener for both teams. The Wolverines will be giving away special water gun-wielding John Beilein bobbleheads, because why not?

A stand-up job by the designer of the mini Beilein with a kid’s squirt gun. Even the Michigan head coach got a kick out of it.

“The good thing was there was grey hair, but at least they didn’t have the baldness look,” Beilein told MLive. “So I was very happy about that. It’s a quality bobblehead.”

Tickets are still on sale for the game this Saturday against the Hoosiers. Those who pay $40 for a ticket will receive their own, custom-made John Beilein bobblehead; regular tickets remain at $30.

Michigan (6-1) plays on the road on Wednesday (11/29) against defending champion North Carolina as part of the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge before returning home to host Indiana on Saturday afternoon.
