On Sunday night, the Detroit Lions could not find their way into the end zone as they suffered a 20-15 loss at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers in front of a sold-out Ford Field.

But the game may not be the only thing the Lions lost as multiple players face a possible suspension for their roles in the skirmish that took place on the Steelers final possession of the game. The players in question are DT A’Shawn Robinson, CB D.J. Hayden, DE Cornelius Washington, and DE Jeremiah Valoaga.

On one of the final snaps of the game, Robinson threw a punch and was immediately thrown out of the game, as was Steelers offensive lineman, Maurkice Pouncey for the same offense. As soon as punches were thrown, Hayden, Washington, and Valoaga ran out on the field.

Lions head coach Jim Caldwell spoke about his player’s running out onto the field and he clearly was not thrilled by the choices they made.

From MLive:

“There were three guys who ran onto the field — that’s an issue,” Caldwell said. “Those are the things we have to address. We’re not going to stand for it. It’s not one of the things we want to be known for. We want to be known for playing this game the way it’s supposed to be played, and losing your poise is not one of those things.

“So we’ll handle that in house, and certainly the league may have something to say about it as well.”

Caldwell also shared his thoughts on Robinson throwing a punch on the field of play.

“When you’re wrong, you’re wrong,” he said. “Obviously (Robinson) was penalized, he was ejected from the game. So that’s an issue.”

Even though the Green Bay Packers will be without starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the Lions will certainly have their work cut out for them when they travel to Lambeau Field for Monday Night Football. If one or more of the players mentioned above are suspended, it would make things that much more difficult for the Lions to walk away with a much-needed victory.

  1. So that’s the line in the sand that get’s Caldwell upset?
Not the lack of respect from the N.F.L or the missed and or phantom call’s or Ebron catching at about 10% ,
Trying to run the ball on every 1st down ?
So getting a fire lit under you or inside you must be stopped ?
That whole statement in itself says where Caldwell is taking his team !!!!!!
