On Saturday, Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines were a bit sloppy at times but still were able to easily dispose of the Florida Gators 33-17 in a game that was not as close as the score indicated.

Michigan outgained Florida 433 yards to 192 and had it not been for two interceptions by the Gators which were returned for touchdowns, along with a couple of overthrown TD passes by Wolverines QB Wilton Speight, it could have easily been a five or six touchdown spread when all was said and done.

The next test for the Maize and Blue (1-0) will come this Saturday at the ‘Big House’ in their home opener against the Cincinnati Bearcats (1-0).

According to Vegas Insider, Michigan opened as a 33 point favorite over Cincinnati.

In their first game of the 2017 campaign, Cincinnati defeated Austin Peay 26-14 despite being outgained by the Governors 313 yards to 248.

Though it should be a relatively easy game for Michigan if they play to their abilities, they will certainly be looking for a stronger performance from Wilton Speight. Against Florida, Speight was only 11-for-25 for 185 yards and a touchdown but it was the two interceptions that allowed the Gators to lead the game at halftime. If the Wolverines want to beat the tougher teams on their schedule, either Speight will have to step up, or Jim Harbaugh will have to make the change to either John O’Korn or Brandon Peters.

O’Korn did not get extensive playing time in the opener but only threw one pass, which was a 37-yard completion.

Nation, who would you pick against the spread in this one?
