For the second consecutive season, the Detroit Tigers and the rest of MLB will partake in the Players’ Weekend event, in which players will don their nicknames on the back of custom-made jerseys.
The inspiration for the nicknames always varies between players, whether it be an homage to family or a reference to a favorite movie and everything in between.
If Michael Fulmer gets back to Tigers rotation in time for Players Weekend, he'll be known as "The Plumber." Full list of nicknames here: https://t.co/FmOLev3caL

The three-day period will take place from August 24-26. The Tigers will be hosting the division rival Chicago White Sox in a four-game series that begins that Thursday, August 23. In the inaugural season of MLB Players’ Weekend a year ago, Detroit played the White Sox in Chicago.
