The offseason activity for baseball players varies from one player to the next. Some players continue playing professionally in hopes of honing their skills and elevating their status within the organization. Others, meanwhile, take almost the entire winter off to rehab and rest up, if their season was marred by injuries.
In the case of Detroit Tigers catcher James McCann, he now gets to balance any sort of baseball workouts with the important duties of being a proud father.
James and his wife, Jessica, recently welcomed twin baby boys to the world.
Yesterday 12.6.16 @JessMcCann34 & I welcomed Christian Thomas McCann and Kane Timothy McCann into this world. We’re so blessed and God is so good. Jessica’s recovering well and boys are doing well in the NICU where they’ll continue to grow & develop for the next several weeks…. pic.twitter.com/etVpaMOzyA

Two more “McCannons” to mount at the McCann fortress!
The couple first announced that they were expecting twins back in August, with an original due date of some time in February. Of course with James having to shift his attention towards attending to little ones, it’ll mean less time to practice and work out. Luckily for James, his batting practice partner just happens to be also the bearer of his two new sons.
Talk about baseball #relationshipgoals.
We here and DSN extend our congratulations to both James and Jessica, and welcome both Christian and Kane!
While the McCann family is just beginning this offseason, James’ employer is set to begin what should be a rather eventful week starting on Monday at the annual Winter Meetings.
The Detroit Tigers are in a clear rebuilding era moving forward, but the team still has some needs to address as their brass heads down to Orlando and exchanges contacts and information. The team made news earlier this week with the announcement of five signings to their 40-man roster.
