If you have been paying attention to Michigan football this season, you are well aware of what has been an abysmal quarterback situation.
The season began with Wilton Speight under center and he left much to be desired as he completed only 54.3% of his passes while tossing only three TD’s against weak competition. When Speight went down with an injury against Purdue, it was John O’Korn who took over the duties as the starting quarterback for the Wolverines. But he has been even worse than Speight, throwing just one touchdown and five interceptions on the season.
Because of the quarterback struggles, many Michigan fans have pleaded for head coach Jim Harbaugh to had the reigns to freshman QB Brandon Peters.

On Saturday, those fans got their wish when Peters replaced Speight in the 2nd quarter against the Rutgers Scarlett Knights. The youngster took advantage of the opportunity by leading the Wolverines one three consecutive touchdown drives (at the time of publish) to put Michigan up 28-7 in the 3rd quarter.
Following the move to put Peters in the game, #BrandonPeters was trending as the Twitter universe exploded.

Brandon Peters could go on to win multiple Super Bowls… but he’ll never be more popular than he is right now.
