Los Angeles Lakers reportedly make decision on HC Frank Vogel

According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Los Angeles Lakers have fired head coach, Frank Vogel.

Vogel had not yet been notified as of Sunday

When asked following Sunday's game about whether or not he would be back with the Lakers for the 2022-23 season, Vogel said he had not yet been notified.

“I haven't been told s— and I'm going to enjoy tonight's game, celebrate what these young guys did in terms of scratching and clawing and getting back in this game and getting a W, and we'll deal with tomorrow, tomorrow,” he told reporters during his postgame media availability.

Lakers guard Malik Monk had nothing but good things to say about Vogel following the Lakers' final game of the season

Malik Monk praises Vogel

He kept his cool the whole time,” Monk said. “Didn't talk about no problems like that. Didn't talk about anything like that, man. He came in and worked and always gave us a great game plan … He was always about us. It was never really about him. And I praise him for that, man. I know that was pretty hard on him, but he never talked about it. He never changed his demeanor.”

Vogel, who is 48, led the Lakers to a 33-49 record during the 2021-22 season, which was not good enough to earn a spot in the NBA Playoffs.

In three seasons with the Lakers, Vogel was 127-98, including winning an NBA Championship after going 52-19 in his first season.

It will be very interesting to see who the Lakers hire to be their next head coach as LeBron James won't likely be playing too many more years.

One name that has surfaced is Michigan head coach Juwan Howard, who previously interviewed for the Lakers head coaching gig back in 2019.

Nation, who do you think the Lakers will hire to be their next head coach? Do you think Juwan Howard would leave Michigan to go back to the NBA?
