Malcolm Rodriguez continues to impress despite being on awful Detroit Lions defense

The Detroit Lions defense has been absolutely horrific so far in 2022 but rookie LB Malcolm Rodriguez has continued to shine bright.

When the Detroit Lions selected LB Malcolm Rodriguez in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, very few projected that he would be one of the key players on the defensive side of the ball.

But Rodriguez has continued to impress both on and off of the field as he continues to make a name for himself during his rookie season in the NFL.

How did Malcolm Rodriguez grade out against the Seahawks?

On Sunday, during the Detroit Lions’ 48-45 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, Malcolm Rodriguez had the best game of his young career, according to Pro Football Focus.

In fact, Rodriguez posted a very solid grade of 83.8 on Sunday, which bumped his overall grade up to 70.5 for the season, whcih is 13th in the NFL for linebackers who have played at least 149 snaps in 2022.

Rodriguez racked up the tackles against the Seahawks

Rodriguez was arguably the Lions best defensive player against the Seahawks as he racked up 10 tackles in the game.

But tackling was not all that Rodriguez did on Sunday as he also came up with a forced fumble on special teams.

Malcolm has now recorded 33 total tackles over his first four games as a professional, which is not too shabby for an undersized linebacker who was selected late in the NFL Draft.
