With their offense sputtering, the Michigan State Spartans have stumbled their way to a 4-5 record so far in 2019 following Saturday’s stunning loss to Illinois.
The Fighting Illini completed a 25-point comeback to take down the Spartans 37-34 at Spartan Stadium, which was just the latest setback in a season that has quickly gone down the tubes. And much of the focus has been on the offensive struggles of the team and the refusal of head coach Mark Dantonio to make any meaningful changes to his staff.
And to that end, Pat Caputo of the Oakland Press asked Dantonio following the loss to Illinois what he say to the Spartan Students, Alumni and fans to let them know this is not a trend.
With his trademark scowl, Dantonio scoffed and simply replied, “Next question.”

Dantonio "Next Question"

You can bet that isn’t what Spartans fans wanted to hear, especially from a coach that is seemingly coming down from the pedestal he was on for taking the program to heights it had never imagined before.
Just how out of touch is Dantonio with the fan base for refusing to make any real changes to his offensive coaching staff, made up mostly of his friends?
