Juwan Howard and the Michigan Wolverines were scheduled to take on North Carolina State later this week as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, but that matchup has officially been postponed thanks to COVID-19 concerns.
The announcement was made on Twitter earlier in the afternoon.
According to the Wolverines statement, the matchup “has been postponed due to COVID-19-related concerns within the Wolfpack program. The two programs will try and pursue future rescheduling opportunities at a later date.” “the two programs will try and pursue future rescheduling opportunities at a later date.”
North Carolina State had already cancelled their most recently scheduled game this past weekend after a member of their traveling party tested positive for COVID-19.
For Howard, his main concern is the health and safety of all those involved.
“Far too often have I had to say we are all living in unprecedented times,” Michigan head coach Juwan Howard said in a statement. “Our main concern is the health and safety of Coach (Kevin) Keatts, his players as well as all of those within the N.C. State program.
“It is unfortunate we have to postpone this ACC/Big Ten Challenge matchup. It would have been fun. However, we must do what is right, and this is the right thing to do for everyone.”
