It's hard to believe the Detroit Lions would have already had two preseason games in the books by now with a trip to Miami coming in less than a week. Unfortunately, a global pandemic ruined that, and the NFL/NFLPA made the decision to cancel all preseason games leading up to the 2020 season.
Lions head coach Matt Patricia has commented on how difficult it has been to simulate game situations in training camp, and on Saturday, he announced that the team will have a “high-tempo game-like simulation” next weekend.
As you may or may or may not know, the third preseason game of the year is often referred to as the “dress rehearsal” for Week 1 of the regular season. This is why Patricia chose next weekend to have the simulation, as it is around the same time as when that third preseason game would have been.
