On Wednesday, reporters were speaking to Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury about his team’s upcoming game against the Detroit Lions and he had an extremely interesting response to a question about the Lions defense.
Kingsbury was asked about what differences he has seen from the Lions defense in 2020, which is now led by new defensive coordinator Corey Undlin, compared to what it was when the Cardinals and Lions met in Week 1 of the 2019 season.
Kingsbury responded by saying that he really did not see much of a difference.
Later in the day, Lions head coach Matt Patricia was asked about Kingsbury’s comment and Patricia brushed it off saying there have been changes.
“There are differences in our defense,” Patricia told reporters. “I think the biggest thing for us…obviously the personnel is a little bit different, some of the players that are out on the field are a little bit different and I think part of it for us is we are still trying to find out what some of those guys do well and what do they do consistent.”
Patricia went on to say that there are changes but hopefully they are not obvious to the other team.
There are some changes in there that are a little bit different” Patricia added. “Hopefully, some of that is not that obvious to the eye that’s breaking down the film.
