The Detroit Lions have had quite a few embarrassing losses during Matt Patricia‘s tenure as head coach but none were more embarrassing than the Lions 20-0 loss on Sunday to the Carolina Panthers and former XFL quarterback P.J. Walker.

During the game, Walker completed 24 of 34 passes for 258 yards and though he did have a couple of XFL moments (2 interceptions in the end zone), he looked a lot more like a seasoned vet than a guy making his first NFL start.
The problem is, this is a story we have seen play out much too often with Patricia at the helm and to say he is on the hot seat is probably a huge understatement at this point.
Following the game, Patricia spoke to the media and when asked about his job security, the Lions head coach had a predictable response.
“I’ve had a philosophy for a long time: I go to work every day to try to earn my job,” Patricia said. “That’s just what I do. Doesn’t matter if it’s coaching, doing engineering, I don’t care if I’m in school. I’m just gonna go to work and work hard.”

To be honest, what is Patricia supposed to say in his situation?
