When the Detroit Lions fired head coach Jim Caldwell in early 2018 so they could bring in former New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, the thought was that the team would begin a new era of defensive excellence and could be a step closer to bringing an elusive championship to Detroit.
So far, the exact opposite has happened.
The Lions now stand at 3-7-1 following a loss to the now 2-9 Washington Redskins today at FedEx Field, and certainly won’t be participating in the playoffs for a third straight season. The defense is terrible, the special teams are a mess and fan morale is in the basement.
Following today’s inexplicable loss to the terrible Redskins, fans took to social media to express their anger and frustration against the team, and Patricia in particular.
