Matt Patricia’s replacement is so obvious even the Detroit Lions cannot screw it up

I made it extremely clear throughout the 2019 regular season that the Detroit Lions should fire Matt Patricia and do whatever it takes to bring in Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy to lead the team into the future.

When I first said that, I got plenty of backlash from readers who insisted that Patricia just needed more time and that Bieniemy was a good assistant which a great quarterback, and that he would never make a good head coach.

As we know, the Fords decided to give Patricia (and Bob Quinn, who is equally bad at his job) shot at turning things around in 2020 with the expectation that they would contend for the playoffs.

Now, when the news broke that Patricia was being retained, I was upset because I figured the Lions had missed their shot at getting Bieniemy, as he would surely be hired by another team in the offseason.

But somehow, by the grace of God, Bieniemy was not hired and if the Lions play their cards right, they could still hire him to replace Patricia.

If you are not already a huge fan of Bieniemy as I am (I will drive this bus as long as I have to), then check out the video below. Not only has EB proven he can coach, but he clearly understands what football (and life) is all about.

Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, I give you the next head coach of the Detroit Lions!

The Lions can’t screw this one up, can they?
