2018 was a disaster for Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions offense. Stafford had one of his worst seasons since coming to the NFL and he will be looking to turn that around in 2019.

Following the season, Jim Bob Cooter was fired as Lions OC and Darrell Bevell was hired to take the reigns.
On Wednesday night, Stafford compared learning Bevells’ offense to learning a new language.
From Detroit Lions:
“It’s kind of like learning a new language,” Stafford said. “It really is. It’s different. This is my fourth different coordinator and fourth different language to learn. Guys are really diving in, and he’s doing a good job of teaching it.”
“It takes a while,” he said. “You get a ton of work in practice. The way we practice here, it’s high intensity all the time. It’s game-like situations as much as we possibly can do it, and it really helps us.
“Every player learns it differently. It takes reps and time together to go out there and do it.”
With a healthy Kerryon Johnson, along with a pair of competent tight ends (Jesse James and T.J. Hockenson), the Lions’ offense has a chance to take a nice step forward in 2019. The question is, will it be enough to help the Lions contend for an NFC North title?
