Is Matthew Stafford the future Detroit Lions’ GM?

Matthew Stafford is heading into his 10th season as quarterback for the Detroit Lions and at 30-years-old he is in the prime of his career. For now, the former No. 1 overall pick is focused on doing whatever he can to lead the Lions to the Super Bowl.

But what about the future?

In an interview with Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Stafford talked about what he would like to do after his playing days are over and becoming a general manager intrigues him.

“It could be fun,” he said. “I don’t know, I see what John Elway’s doing (as GM of the Denver Broncos), it looks kind of like he’s having a good time, like it’s pretty fun. That’d be something I would for sure be interested in, possibly.”

As far as becoming a head coach after he hangs up his cleats, Stafford wants nothing to do with that.

“I’d want to see my kids,” he said.

Nation, would you like to see Matthew Stafford making roster moves for the Lions after he retires? Don’t worry, you still have plenty of time to think about it.

Dear Detroit Tigers: Please make this one jersey change for 2019

Dear Detroit Tigers,

Heading into the 2018 season, us fans knew it was highly unlikely that we would see a winning team. In fact, many of us wondered if we would lead the league in losses. But regardless of what was about to happen,  whether you won or lost, we supported you. Sure, it was tough to make it out to as many games as usual, but trust me when I say that we had your back from afar.

Looking forward to 2019, all signs point to another long season, at least in terms of wins and losses, but that is expected in a rebuild. We know there is a process to get back to a championship-caliber team and we are willing to be patient now because we believe there will be amazing celebrations down the road.

Though we promise to be patient when it comes to the product on the field, we have one request that would instantly make the 2019 season and beyond a little better.
