Ever since Matt Patricia took over as head coach, the Detroit Lions defense has left much to be desired. In fact, since Patricia took over, the Lions defense has been one of the worst units in the entire NFL.

But on Sunday, the Lions defense stepped up big in the fourth quarter against a very good Arizona Cardinals offense, which is led by QB Kyler Murray. In fact, the Lions did not give up a single point in the final quarter, allowing Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense to do enough to win the game.
Following the game, Stafford spoke to Dan Miller and he talked about the defense getting three turnovers and how he was proud of the way they played.
“Our defense played outstanding, that’s a heck of an offense they are going up against,” Stafford said. “And I was just proud of them. To get those turnovers, they were huge plays for us in the game.”
Nation, do you think the Lions defense will continue to improve, or was this game just a splash in the pan?
